Transport & the Weather

The auto rickshaw ride is crazy exciting. The device is a bit bigger than a vespa and can produce a similar rush. In Amritsar the majority of the traffic was bikes, tractors and horse drawn so it seemed less life threatening to careen around street corners on three wheels at 25mph. Auto rickshaw is a major form of transportation in India but I'm still not ready for this mode in a big city like Delhi.

The trip back to Delhi from Amritsar was uneventful aside from the usual chaotic drive on Indian roads; we nearly ran down an old man on a bicycle. And the International airport was under construction...

A quick comment on the weather; it was cold in Amritsar and that's why I'm wearing a heavy sweater in most of the pictures. We are even planning for freezing weather this weekend in Delhi. This cold weather is a big motivator to go see as much of the country as possible before the heat and the monsoons set in later in the year.
